What are your opening times?

Monday – Thursday: 5pm – 7pm

Saturday: 10.30am – 4pm

Sunday: 10am – 4pm

Students on the crash courses will have varied timings.

How long are the lessons?

Each lesson is 60 minutes long.

What happens at the assessment stage?

Currently we only assess children for the 11plus tutoring.

How are the students taught?

Your child can be taught one-to-one or in small groups. They will be taught via a mixture of presentations, work sheets and interactive lessons; this is dependent on the subject, the teacher and the child’s learning style.

What is the ratio of children to tutors?

In our group sessions, we will have a maximum of 8 students per tutor. Depending on their assessments and other requirements, we will aim to group students on their ability or by the subject(s) they wish to study. This will ensure they still receive the individual attention that they require throughout the lesson.

Can I get one-to-one tuition?

Yes! This can be booked at the centre after your child’s assessment.

How does Simple Learning differ from general classroom learning?

At our centre, we develop individual ‘learning journeys’ for each child so they are not just working towards an exam. We aim to allow our students time and practice to understand their topics through teaching and individual learning; as well as developing key skills in Math, English and Science, each student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that our students will not be dependent on, or limited by, the skills and knowledge of others.

Does Simple Learning work alongside what my child learns at school?

The learning specifications for each year group are developed based on the national curriculum. For GCSE and A level courses, they have been developed in accordance to the exam board specifications for the new examinations.

Does Simple Learning help students with the 11+/SATs/scholarship/GCSEs/A level exams?

Yes, we have a teaching plan to span the academic year for each type of exam, for this we have worked alongside the exams boards to ensure our tutors are up to date with changes to any specifications and have planned their lessons appropriately.

How much does it cost?

Please take a look at our FEES webpage.

At what age can students start Simple Learning to study?

We take students as early as Key Stage 1.

My child has SEN, can they benefit from attending Simple Learning?

Yes! We individualise every child’s learning, and following a diagnostic test, set a study plan to develop the ability of the child and to allow them to progress. Some of our tutors are specifically trained (or are training) to work with children with specific needs, including those that have: dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia and some levels of autism. At our centre, we welcome all those who believe they can achieve more and fulfil their potential.

My child is gifted, can they benefit from attending Simple Learning?

Yes! We individualise every child’s learning, and following a diagnostic test, set a study plan to develop the ability of the child and to allow them to progress.

How will my child’s progress be recognised?

We encourage parents to speak a member of the office team who will liase with the tutors and provide feedback.

How frequently will I receive feedback?

All parents can receive feedback at the end of each lesson, please speak to a member of the office team.
